Lysol's HERE for Healthy Schools: Quality Time Off (QTO) Grant

National PTA teamed up with Lysol to support school environments through its HERE for Healthy Schools program. The HERE for Healthy Schools: Quality Time Off (QTO) Grant, funded by Lysol, provides funding and resources to help PTAs create meaningful in-school experiences, designed to foster connection, engagement and lasting memories for families nationwide.

Five selected PTAs will each receive:

  • $2,000 to help enhance your PTA’s planned family engagement activities

  • 50 Lysol products including Lysol Disinfecting Wipes intended to help reduce the spread of illness-causing germs* on surfaces in classrooms and common areas on campus.

Meaningful school moments, like read-a-thons and field trips, create lasting memories for children and strengthen connections between students and their parents. Yet families often miss out on these special occasions due to unexpected illnesses and the need to reserve personal time off (PTO) for sick days. In fact, 78% of parents** who missed an important school-day event did so because they had already used their available PTO when their child was home sick.

To help families stay present for the moments that matter most, National PTA is launching the HERE for Healthy Schools: Quality Time Off (QTO) Grant, funded by Lysol. As an extension of Lysol's HERE for Healthy Schools initiative, launched in 2019, the grant reinforces the commitment to helping reduce the spread of illness-causing germs* on surfaces in classrooms nationwide.

Requirements

  • You MUST be an active local elementary-serving PTA in good standing with your state PTA.

  • Meet eligibility requirements (high-need school, grades K-6)

  • Local PTA must be in the contiguous United States (excludes AK, HI, EU, PR and USVI).

  • Be able to receive Lysol Disinfecting Wipes at a school location.

  • Must submit donation completion form to share stories, pictures and testimonials.


Ideas on Distributing Lysol Disinfecting Wipes to your School Community

  • Create small kits for each classroom that include a set number of Lysol Disinfecting Wipes along with a thank-you note from PTA.

  • Host a short 'Healthy Habits' event or assembly and distribute Lysol Disinfecting Wipes to teachers and staff as part of the program.

  • Surprise teachers by delivering Lysol Disinfecting Wipes as part of a Teacher Appreciation Day or Week celebration.

  • During a PTA meeting, open house or family night, set up a table where families can pick up a canister. Include a simple handout about healthy habits to reinforce the message at home.

What is a high-need school?

Does my PTA have to pay for the shipping of product?

No, Lysol will take care of the shipping cost.  

Where will the Lysol product(s) be shipped?  

The person applying will be asked to provide a school address (no P.O. boxes; street address only) to receive the shipment during school hours.  

Does someone have to be at the school to accept the shipment?

Yes, someone will need to be at the school to accept the shipment.

Once our PTA receives the product, who can the Lysol product(s) go to?

Teachers and families at the school your PTA serves.
