Fernando Nuñez, an 18-year-old autistic filmmaker, was born in Miami, Florida, and raised in Orange County, California. He attends El Dorado High School’s Digital Media Arts Academy and has studied at the FilmED Academy of the Arts for 3.5 years, specializing in directing, producing, cinematography, and camera operation.
Fernando participated in the Video Production class at Bernardo Yorba Middle School for 2 years, achieving notable success before moving on to El Dorado High School. In his freshman year of high school (2022-2023), Fernando entered "Venture Academy Choir" in the PTA Reflections contest "Show Your Voice" and was awarded a national silver medal of excellence for national achievement in the arts.
His 2025-2026 current piece, "My Life in Puzzle Pieces," later won a special award at the California Student Media Festival held at the Los Angeles Library.
