National PTA has teamed up with TikTok to help parents and guardians learn more about how their teens are using this highly popular entertainment app, educate families about safety on the app, and guide parents in having open, ongoing conversations with their teens to ensure they are using online platforms productively and responsibly.

People use online platforms to: 

  • Share information or learn new skills
  • Express themselves creatively or share stories about themselves
  • Mobilize and activate around issues
  • Connect with others socially, professionally and spiritually
  • Find community and a sense of belonging

The Create with Kindness program, sponsored by TikTok, teaches teenagers and the adults in their lives how to:

  • Use platforms to spread kindness
  • Talk as a family about online experiences, behaviors, and expectations
  • Enable TikTok’s parental controls
