Walmart Business+ Frequently Asked Questions

What is Walmart Business+?
  • Walmart Business is a dedicated online and in-store shopping experience to help organizations — like local PTA units — save time, money and hassle with their purchasing.  Walmart Business is available via a separate shopping site (business.walmart.com/pta) and an online app (Apple & Android). Learn more about Walmart Business.

  • With Walmart Business+, PTA units nationwide can shop for and order needed supplies for classrooms, teachers and their schools with access to savings benefits such as 2% rewards on orders of $250 or more and free shipping with no minimums. Through Walmart Business you can buy in bulk, have the convenience of free pickup, shipping, or same day scheduled delivery, set up subscriptions to frequently purchased items, and have a mix of online or fresh and local products. You'll also save on purchases through Walmart’s everyday low prices and by using your tax-exempt status if available to you in your state.

At this time, Walmart ships to APO addresses, but this may include shipping fees.

Is a credit or debit card required for membership?

Sign up with a free Walmart Business account. Today, it includes nearly all of the benefits short of free delivery and 2% shipping.

How do the spending limits work?

The account admin can add up to five additional users with shared payment across all users. Admins can set customized spending limits for users and view spending records.

Will the membership automatically renew?

Yes, the membership will automatically renew one-year from the date of sign-up. You can manually cancel your membership prior to the renewal date. The primary administrator can view the subscription date in the account portal.

Are we eligible for tax-exemption and how do we apply?

Anyone who has tax-exempt eligibility issued by their state is eligible to have tax exemption applied. Click here to see the documentation required to prove eligibility. The below graphic includes step by step instructions for how to apply via your Walmart Business account portal.

Tax Exempt Step by Step

Our state PTA has a group exemption from the IRS. How can we address this? Will a standard donation letter issued by the state with the local units EIN information be enough?
  • For Walmart Business state tax exemptions are issued at the EIN level. Please check here for the file types required to prove tax exempt eligibility on business.walmart.com.
  • For Spark Good eligibility you’ll need to show proof of eligibility through either an IRS Determination letter or a most recent copy of your orgs tax 990 or 990N form filed with the IRS.
Can we add teachers or parents to our account?

Yes, currently you can add up to five users per account. Walmart anticipates increasing the additional users to up to 1,000 for parents and teachers in spring 2024.

Teachers Lists vs. Spark Good Registry
  • Teachers Lists are available to any teacher to create a list of items they need for their classrooms any time. Teachers can share their lists and parents can fulfill these registry items online. Teacher’s lists are searchable by school. Learn more.
  • Registries for Good are available to verified 501©3 nonprofits and schools to create a list of items they need to share with the public for donations. Registry for Good integrates the ability for the school or charity to provide a charitable receipt directly through the registry to donors. For examples visit www.walmart.com/sparkgood
What is Walmart Spark Good?
  • Spark Good is a new way of giving that makes it easier for associates and customers to support causes they care about, and for nonprofits to access Walmart’s customers, associates, and business and philanthropic resources. This includes the ability to accept parent/community donations as they roundup on the Walmart.com purchases, receive donations through Registry for Good (Walmart.com/sparkgood), apply for local grants or reserve time in front of Walmart stores. Nonprofits that want to take advantage of Spark Good resources must first become verified through FrontDoor, a third-party verification software powered by CyberGrants.
