We want to hear about them!

Tell us about a teacher who makes an exceptional impact on students, families and your school community. Share your teacher’s story in the comments on THIS FACEBOOK POST or post on your own Facebook page with photos and video.

From the submissions, 30 PTAs will be selected to receive $1,250 from National PTA to celebrate an exceptional teacher in their community. Sweet Teacher Shoutouts are sponsored by Walmart.

Here's everything you need to know:

  • Post your entry in the comments of THIS FACEBOOK POST.

  • Tell us about the teacher’s impact on your school community—what makes them stand out and how they’ve made a difference for students or families.

  • PTAs may nominate as many teachers as they wish, but each comment/post should feature one teacher only.

  • The nominator must be a parent, guardian or PTA member—teachers may not nominate themselves.

  • Entries must be publicly visible; private or restricted accounts will not be eligible for review.

  • The nominated teacher must work at a school with a PTA in good standing.



Keep in mind:

 

  • Include a photo with your entry.

  • If you include a video, please keep it under 60 seconds.

  • Keep your entry to about 100 words.

  • Tag your PTA and include its name in your entry.

  • Use #ThankATeacher and #SweetTeachers.

  • Entries may be submitted in the comments on THIS FACEBOOK POST or on your own Facebook page. If you post on your own page, be sure to tag @NationalPTA so we can find them.

  • To ensure equitable distribution of resources, PTAs that receive funding through any National PTA funding opportunity during the current year will not be eligible for additional National PTA funding opportunities within the same funding cycle.

We’re accepting submissions from September 1–30, 2026. PTAs selected to receive the $1,250 will be announced in February 2027, giving you plenty of time to plan a special celebration for Teacher Appreciation Week, May 2–8, 2027!
