PTA Takes Action for Public Schools

National PTA's 2026 Legislative Conference was a complete success! Hundreds of advocates from across the country came together to grow their advocacy skills and take action for public schools.

That momentum carried into our 2026 Hill Day, where over 300 attendees participated in 245 congressional meetings—amplifying voices from 47 states, Washington, D.C., the U.S. Virgin Islands, and DoDEA military students overseas. It was a powerful day of connection, impact, and action for public education.

We can’t wait to see you in D.C. in 2027!

Keynote Speakers

Nicole Hockley

Co-Founder and CEO of Sandy Hook Promise

Nicole Hockley chose to transform unspeakable grief and anguish into action after her youngest son, Dylan, was murdered in his first-grade classroom during the Sandy Hook Elementary School tragedy. As the co-founder and CEO of Sandy Hook Promise, Hockley works every day to protect children from gun and school violence.

Sandy Hook Promise Foundation is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to educating and empowering youth and adults to prevent violence in schools, homes and communities. Under Nicole Hockley’s leadership, the research-driven Know The Signs violence prevention programs were created and are now available to schools at no cost. This has saved lives and helped youth get vital mental health support.
