Voting Questions

Will there be voting?

Yes, voting is scheduled to occur Thursday, June 27.

Will I be able to vote?

If you are not a member of National PTA governance as defined in the National PTA Bylaws Article XII, in order to be eligible to vote during convention business and elections, a state PTA must select you as a voting delegate. You must fully complete your registration (including full payment) by 11:59 p.m. PDT, June 4 in order to be considered for voting status. If you have questions about becoming a voting delegate, you need to contact a state PTA. You will be notified on or about June 12, if you have been selected by a state PTA as a voting delegate.

What is a delegate?

While anyone can attend and enjoy the Virtual Annual Convention, only PTA members forming the voting body are able to vote on business and elections. National PTA bylaws define the voting body as members of National PTA governance and delegates selected by state PTAs. The potential number of delegates named by each state PTA is based on state PTA membership. If you have questions about becoming a delegate, please contact your state PTA office.

I joined PTA as a national supporting member, will I be able to vote?

National supporting members may not be credentialed in accordance with National PTA bylaws. If you would like the opportunity to be selected as a delegate, join a local PTA in your area and contact your state PTA for more information.

How will voting take place?

This being a virtual convention, delegates will be emailed their unique voting identification, along with specific instructions regarding the voting process, prior to the business and voting sessions scheduled.
