Candidate Narrative
I have had the honor of serving PTA for over 27 years at all levels. 3 of those years have been as a National PTA Board Member. As a collaborative leader, it has been a privilege to work alongside other leaders to address the needs of our children, schools, and diverse communities. I embrace the opportunity to continue to serve all leaders at the local, state, and national levels. These past few years have taught us new ways to engage our leaders and members, and we need to keep the momentum going. We need to be able to meet our leaders and members where they are to increase the value of PTA.
I believe strongly in the 3 Cs of Leadership: Connection, Collaboration, and Community. Connections are shaped by who we are and who we connect with, not only our team, but others around us. True Collaboration happens when everyone has a seat at the table, creating a nurturing place for innovation and innovative ideas to, not only come to fruition, but to flourish. Embracing our differences and learning together to make us stronger. Community is the cornerstone of who we are, it is our PTA Family, we must invest in our people by engaging, supporting, and empowering them, along with acknowledging the extraordinary contributions they provide to all children.
I believe we must remain steadfast in our mission and to our values. We must continue to advocate effectively and remain at the forefront of all children’s' matters, we need to remain committed to being inclusive with our work. We need to be intentional and proactive with our Resolutions and Position Statements to enhance and sustain our advocacy efforts. When faced with seemingly insurmountable obstacles, that is when we, PTA shine! Together, making a difference for all children.
I am Jennifer Martinez; I am a passionate servant leader up to the task, continuing to serve you as a National PTA Board Member and help lead National PTA into the future.
