Heather Scalzitti

In Atlanta, Georgia, Heather Scalzitti serves as the Legislative Chair for the DeKalb County PTA, passionately advocating for educational equity. Her journey as an adopted child and single foster parent raising both a gifted child and a child with learning disabilities fuels her commitment to ensuring every family is heard and supported.
 
Heather's professional expertise as an Executive Assistant at Boston Consulting Group and her experience as a teachers' union lobbyist empowered her advocacy for inclusive education policies. As Legislative Chair for the Georgia PTA, she has led initiatives prioritizing educational needs, notably organizing a Capitol Day that engaged over 800 participants. This event showcased the collective voice of families and educators, resulting in critical legislation on school safety, mental health, and support for socioeconomically disadvantaged students. Her efforts have secured increased funding for public education, ensuring vital resources for all children.
 
Heather believes public education should be a beacon of hope and opportunity for every child. She champions collaboration among parents, educators, and legislators to create nurturing environments where students thrive. Her dedication to diversity, equity, and inclusion is evident in her active roles in community organizations, fostering connections among families from all backgrounds.
 
Beyond her professional commitments, Heather is a devoted mother and community servant, holding certifications in Family Engagement, Nurturing Parenting, and Nonprofit Leadership. As Board President of the Paulding County Basketball Booster Club and Board Secretary of Infinity Sports Connection, she ensures every voice is valued.
