Candidate Narrative

Dana Platin

It has been a true honor and privilege to serve on the National PTA Board of Directors. I am passionate about, and deeply committed to, the vision, mission, and values of PTA. I firmly believe in the importance of our work, and I am a fierce advocate for all that we represent and stand for.

As a National PTA board member, my focus shifted from state to national leadership. Drawing on my experiences as a state president, I brought those insights to guide my work at the National level. My roots grew and flourished in New York, but my commitment to our mission truly blossomed when I became a National PTA board member.

As an association, we must continue to inspire and empower current and prospective PTA leaders on all levels. It is our responsibility to prepare and encourage these volunteers, and to provide them with continued, engaging opportunities to grow into confident and determined leaders. We must remain forward-thinking and adaptable to support the evolving challenges of National and State PTAs. Focusing on meaningful and sustained professional development for all is vital. Being open-minded and creative in adopting new ideas and strategies is essential for developing and nurturing our future leadership.

Once re-elected for a second term on the National PTA Board of Directors, I will continue to uphold my commitment to represent with passion, integrity, and dedication. I pledge to hold strong to what is right and true for all children and their families, as we shine a light on every child and lead them to a brighter tomorrow.

With hope and optimism, I believe that positivity strengthens collaboration, trust, and unity. There is still work to accomplish, so I kindly ask for your support in continuing my service to National PTA.
