Candidate Narrative

I am so grateful to have been slated to serve as your National PTA Secretary-Treasurer. Like so many of you, I joined and remained in PTA because of my belief in its mission, vision, and Future! I live by the slogan Volunteers don’t necessarily have the time, but they have the heart. I have both the heart and the desire to represent you as your National PTA Secretary-Treasurer. My Why is simple, it’s my belief in you, our members, our leaders, and how PTA represents all Children.

I have served in many capacities at the local, council, state, and national levels of PTA. At National,  I have served on two NPTA Strategic Planning Committees, was elected by our members to the Nominating and Leadership Development Committee (NLDC) and elected twice to the Board of Directors. I currently am serving as your National PTA Vice-President of Membership.

Tomorrow’s PTA will face many challenges. If elected these three items will be at the top of my priority list.

  • Ensure we always remain customer (member) focused in every financial decision we make.
  • Ensure the financial future of our great association.
  • Ensure that all our programs and financial resources align with our mission and strategic plan.

My goal is to help security the Future of PTA, by letting every member knows that membership is stewardship, that they are stockholders for our Children. Remember Everyone Belong in PTA. If entrusted with your vote, I commit to: To listen, to be respectful yet resolved; considerate, yet courageous; a team player, yet willing to go it alone; and to always keep you, our members in mind with every decision we make.
