Candidate Narrative

Samantha Moore Valentine
Candidate for  Board Member
Candidate for Nominating and Leadership Recruitment Committee

Hello All,

My name is Samantha Valentine. As my background shows, I have the commitment, passion, and humility to serve as a National Leadership Recruitment Committee Member- Representative for the State of GA. My vision for serving in this leadership position is simple... it is aligned with the tenets of transformational leadership Individualized Consideration, Inspirational Motivation and Idealized Influence

I am committed to being a transformational leader, a social change agent, and an advocate for education because I truly believe that anything that affects our children affects us all. We must stop putting a price tag on our children –they are invaluable—they are more than just models for education slogans and posters. I intend to take the mission and vision and legacy of its founders--and bring them back to the forefront of what matters.

When I look around, I do not see our differences. I see a striking similarity. I see that we are all parents and family who love and want what is best for our children. We love our children and when we send them to school we are sending the best part of ourselves out into the world. In this arena of education we must be accountable, not negligent, in our approach. We must be smart in our planning, diligent in priority setting, and stealth in our actions…At the national level, we have the power to make a difference. I aim to be the vessel the NLRC needs to undergerd the charge of screening and evaluating individuals and nominating candidates for National leadership positions.

The importance of a good education can never be overstated, and I am deeply honored by your vote of confidence and look forward to serving you, the parents, and the children.
