Dr. Traci Petteway
Candidate for Member Representative, Board of Directors
Dr. Traci Petteway, native of Louisiana and resident of Texas, is a successful non-profit business owner, a renown motivational speaker, and a professionally published best-selling author. She is also a Certified John Maxwell Team Coach, Trainer, and Mentor. She has been the keynote speaker on many levels: National and Regional Conferences, Colleges and Universities, Public School Districts, Council and State PTA Conventions, churches, as well as workshop presenter and panelist participant!
Dr. Traci has been married for 20 years and they have two (2) children: a son who is 17 (Baylor Univ.) and a daughter who is 14 (9th grade). If you were to ask, she is the proud product of Caddo Parish Public School System.
Dr. Traci has earned every college degree possible: Associate Degree, Bachelor’s Degree, two (2) Master’s Degree’s, and two (2) Ph.D.’s. In addition to being a tenured Professor in the Dept. of Social Sciences; Dr. Petteway is an Academic Advisor for Veterans and Military Connected Students in Higher Education.
Dr. Traci currently serves as a National PTA Board of Director where she works diligently on the National Governance, Diversity Equity and Inclusion, and Convention Committees. Dr. Traci has earned the Paul Harris Fellow Award with Rotary International and PTA Honorary Life Membership in both the State of Oklahoma and the State of Texas.
Dr. Traci is heavily involved in her community where she serves on many boards. She is involved in many organizations that serve her profession and community. She is proud to be a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Jack and Jill of America, Inc., and the City of Lewisville Advisory Board (Vice President). She has held every committee chair and officer position within PTA/PTSA and was the first African-American to serve as President of her son’s high school PTSA in Texas.
