Candidate Narrative

Jeff Price

For over 125 years, PTA has done amazing work for children and families.  Through our collective voice, we have passed legislation for the betterment of our children, have built stronger bonds between school and home, have advocated for adequate funding of our schools, and have demanded that our schools be a safe and healthy place to send our children.  But, with all the success PTA has had, there is still work to be done.

To continue the greatness of PTA, we need to look at our processes and make sure that we remain supportive of our local, regional, and state leaders so that they have every resource at their disposal to carry out our mission.  As a parent of a child who graduated from high school last year, I have a keen awareness of what is happening in our schools and our communities.  I will be a truth teller on the board and will ensure National is keeping all our leaders in mind when making decisions.

Another  issue we face is our declining membership.  For PTA to continue its important work for  another 125 years, we need to ensure that we are doing everything possible to raise our membership numbers.  As a local and state representative, I have trained thousands of PTA leaders on the importance of membership and have given them the tools necessary to create original and successful membership marketing plans which have shown to be successful year over year.

Leadership is crucial right now, and who we have representing us on our National Board of Directors is vital for our future success.  Our children need PTA, and our PTA needs strong and forward-thinking leaders like me.  I respectfully ask for your vote.
