Candidate Narrative

Don Romoser

For over 125 years, PTA has had a wonderful and productive history, yet now is about our future. It is time to take bold and innovative steps and be the family association of choice and focus on making everyone feel welcome. We can only do this with our powerful voices. This is the value and importance of strong membership! The goal of membership at the national level must be to instill the value and mission of PTA in all that we do and to provide the supporting structure to empower the states and locals to broaden their membership base.

In a world of declining interest in joining movements and committing to long term causes, our primary concern must be attracting members. We need to drive the narrative about our history, our values, and our mission. We are at a point of inflection for our association. Now is our time to move our association forward to a bright future. All of this will require a firm focus on membership recruitment and retention.

I have spent the past 20+ years involved with education and related causes in various capacities. My successful experiences in both my professional and volunteer roles have offered me the skills and background to move us forward. I commit to you to have the tools and resources available for us to show the value of PTA.

Our vision for PTA - what we are and where we should be going - can only be achieved with solid people guiding our Association. I believe with my mind and heart that I am the one to provide PTA the leadership needed to keep us moving forward.

When elected, I look forward to being your Vice President of Membership. Let's work together to change declining membership into a growing and thriving association!
