Candidate Narrative

Don Romoser

Candidate for Board Member

Let’s face it – PTA is not in good shape. We have had years of declining membership. Our brand is co-opted and made to be the punch line of entertainers. COVID has decimated our ranks. Leaders are harder to find than ever. Our message is being drowned out by the thousands of other organizers helping children and families.

As a dedicated PTA Leader, those facts may offend you. They offend me. It is our time to break that pattern.

For over 120 years, PTA has been the leader in advocacy for those unable to speak for themselves. We have a wonderful and productive history, yet now is about our future.

Now is our time to take bold and innovative steps to once again be THE child and family advocacy Association.

We must break the cycle of inequity.

We must create safer childhoods.

We must make the unheard be heard.

To do this, we need leadership that will look at both our past and our future, intensely evaluate the opportunities we have to change our dynamic and be willing to take and defend bold actions to bring our Association back as THE voice for children and families.

Now is our time. We have our struggles yet are not yet broken. Our PTA family has endured and our family can once again make a better Association. Let’s all get together and move our Association forward to a bright and growing future.

I look forward to being your proud, hardworking, and enthusiastic Member Representative as we continue the legacy of PTA.
