Personal and Professional Information

  • Mr. Collins Odongo. I am an international global development and peace consultant and a founder of Optven Foundation for Peace and Development International.
  • I have  over  15 years’ of experience in management of Non-Profit Organizations, board member  of various development  organization both in Africa and globally  providing  advisory  and technical  support in  both development and policy matters. I am looking forward to gain more expertise on how to deal with terrorism as a global menace
  • I am a graduate with Masters of Arts in Global Development and Peace and Bachelors of Science, Business Major from the University of Bridgeport, Connecticut, USA.
  • I am currently finalizing my Dissertation in my PhD Studies in Policy and Administration specializing in Terrorism, Peace and Mediation.

  • Led the implementation of a private sector development strategy for youth economic empowerment.
  • Successfully developed a strategy for expanding government and private sector partnerships.
  • Identified and communicated with key donors and oversaw technical inputs for proposal responses.  
  • Coordinated the development of core fundraising materials and identified new funding sources.

  • Spearheaded expansion of union membership through integrated marketing efforts.
  • Conducted market research on target audience to develop and implement marketing strategies for conferences, education programs and fundraising.
  • Improved cost and productivity from a 30th place ranking to a 2nd place ranking nationwide in only three months. Achieved the #1 ranking best well-managed SACCO in the country for 3 consecutive years running.
  • Prepared donor financial statements and monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements for management and board.
  • Designed and conducted training programs for the Management Committee aimed at achieving quality service delivery.

Electoral Commission of Kenya (ECK), Nairobi, Kenya
1997 and 2002: Presiding Officer (PO)

  • Coordinated and delivered credible, free and fair General Elections on the polling days.
  • Conducted training for Polling Clerks and other Poll Officials on electoral management processes.
  • Liaised with Polling Agents and Poll Observers to monitor the electoral process.
