Candidate for Vice President Advocacy
Hey, it’s me again!
Over the past four years you gifted me the great honor of representing you on the National PTA Board of Directors as a Member Representative. What a four years it has been, especially these last 18 months. I’ve done the work you elected me to do, both in person and virtually. Now the time has come to continue that work on the National PTA Board of Directors as your Vice President for Advocacy.
My PTA career spans more than a decade, and I realize I am no longer the new kid on the block. My consistent work ethic and calm demeanor have earned the respect of my PTA colleagues across the country. I also haven’t been at this PTA thing so long that I am unable to embrace change. Change is inevitable, and you have to work quickly to take advantage of it.
I see a PTA that is connected. I see a PTA that is vocal. I see a PTA that uses our individual voices to its collective advantage. A PTA that is inclusive and holds space for those who have a story to tell. The time has come for this association to lift up the voices of our members and allow them to tell their stories. Our stories are where our power lies. Our stories are what connect us.
As your Vice President for Advocacy it is my job to not only sit at the table, but to have you sit with me. Side by side we can walk the halls of capital buildings and school buildings across the country creating meaningful change for this generation of children, as well as future generations. We can do this work, together.
Together we can change the lives of 56 million children across the country.
