Candidate Narrative

Cody M. LeBlanc
Candidate for Member Representative, Board of Directors

Serving our communities and students has been a passion of mine for many years. My PTA involvement began when I went into Kindergarten at Butler Elementary School in Fort Lupton, Colorado. That was the first year PTSA/PTA was created in our school district. Serving as the Student Representative throughout my time in school was one of the most rewarding experiences I could have asked for.

I have served many roles throughout my time with our local PTSA organizations. Most recently, I served as the Secretary for the Fort Lupton High School PTSA for 2018-2019 and President for 2019-2020. We have worked tirelessly to expand our outreach and increase the community engagement within our school.

I was elected to the Weld School District Re-8 Board of Education in November of 2019. This position has provided me the opportunity to gather a better understanding of what our parents, teachers, students, and community need from their schools in our quest to improve education throughout our district. The Board of Education has been faced with many challenges and our community of learners and educators have been incredibly creative over the past few months, as we navigate the Corona Virus outbreak. Times like these remind me of the extreme importance of actively involved families and communities for the educational excellence of our students.

Serving on the National PTA Board is an exciting opportunity, as the potential for change is limitless. We must take every opportunity to influence policy and educational standards that are best for our students. I appreciate the opportunity to serve an organization that has granted our community so much, over the years. I humbly request your support and look forward to the future of education.
