National PTA's 2018 Youth Advocacy Summit

Nominations Now Open!

National PTA is hosting a Youth Advocacy Summit October 14-16 for 10-12 active PTA or PTSA members who exemplify the qualities of creativity, leadership, and dedication, and have positively affected policy or change in his or her school or community in a way that aligns with PTA’s mission and public policy agenda.

Advocacy is the cornerstone of National PTA’s mission, and advocates at every level and age play an integral role in PTA’s efforts. The involvement of our nation's youth is particularly important, as youth both provide a fresh perspective and develop skills to be the leaders of tomorrow.

The individuals eligible for the summit must be between 18-22 in age at the time of the summit and must be active PTA or PTSA members or National Supporting MembersNational PTA will verify active PTA or PTSA membership or National Supporting Member status when reviewing each application. The deadline for nominations is July 15.

Youth Advocacy Summit attendees will receive an all expense paid trip to National PTA headquarters in Alexandria, VA where they will have the opportunity to attend advocacy workshops, visit the sites of Washington DC, and interact with lawmakers and their staff during a Hill Day.
