Elizabeth RorickElizabeth Rorick

Deputy Executive Director of Government Affairs and Communications

Elizabeth (Beth) Rorick is the deputy executive director of government affairs and communications at National PTA. Rorick previously served as National PTA director of government affairs, representing PTA before Congress on a vast array of children’s education issues, including special education, early childhood and children’s behavioral health. Prior to National PTA, Rorick was the assistant director of government affairs at the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, where she actively lobbied members of Congress on children’s health issues, specifically mental health parity, access to quality healthcare and the State Children’s Health Insurance Program (SCHIP). She also was a legislative affairs specialist for Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD), where she advocated for the prevention of underage drinking and victim’s issues. She holds a juris doctor degree from the University of Dayton School of Law and a bachelor’s degree in political science, magna cum laude, from North Carolina State University.

Jacki BallJacki Ball

Director of Government Affairs

Jacki Ball is the director of government affairs at National PTA, where she leads PTA’s federal public policy and advocacy efforts, external partnerships and coalition building. She is primarily responsible for representing National PTA’s interests in implementation of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), family engagement education, federal appropriations and school safety and climate issues. Prior to joining National PTA, she served as the associate director of advocacy at the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP). Ball has spent her entire career in either the classroom or government relations. She started her career as a history and government teacher in Fairfax, Va., worked on Capitol Hill as a legislative aide and served as manager of government relations for Reading is Fundamental (RIF). She serves as an officer on the Women in Government Relations (WGR) Board of Directors and is an active member on the Education Task Force. Ball earned her bachelor’s degree from Wake Forest University and her master’s degree from the University of Florida.

Eileen HuckEileen Huck

Senior Manager of Government Affairs

Eileen Huck is the Senior Manager of Government Affairs at National PTA. In this role, she manages National PTA’s Congressional Outreach and oversees the development of its public policy agenda. Her portfolio also includes appropriations and budget issues, school nutrition, school choice, and health and safety. Prior to joining National PTA Eileen served as a Deputy Director of Government Relations at the National Military Family Association, where she worked on issues surrounding military children’s education. She began her career as a Foreign Service Officer with the U.S. State Department and served tours overseas in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and Rabat, Morocco. Eileen earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Foreign Service from Georgetown University.

Cyrus HuncharekCyrus Huncharek

Government Affairs Coordinator

Cyrus Huncharek is the government affairs coordinator at National PTA. His career began as a high school English teacher in South Dakota where he saw how federal education policy directly impacted students. Prior to joining National PTA, Huncharek was a legislative fellow at a Virginia-based lobbying firm where he worked on family and education issues. He has served as a policy fellow for the D.C. Office of the Ombudsman for Public Education, where he communicated regularly to parents and families about their rights, as well as a learning and development intern for the White House Office of Administration, where he developed e-learning courses for executive office employees. Huncharek holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin.
