Elizabeth Rorick
Deputy Executive Director of Government Affairs and Communications

Prior to her position as deputy executive director, Elizabeth (Beth) Rorick served as the senior policy strategist at National PTA. In this capacity, she represented the PTA before Congress on a vast array of children’s education issues, including special education, early childhood and children’s behavioral health.

Rorick was the assistant director of government affairs at the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry where she actively lobbied members of Congress on children’s health issues, specifically mental health parity, access to quality healthcare, and the State Children’s Health Insurance Program (SCHIP). Prior to that position, she worked as legislative affairs specialist for Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) where she advocated for the prevention of underage drinking and victim’s issues.

Since 2003, Rorick has worked in both private lobbying and nonprofit advocacy. She holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Dayton School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science, magna cum laude, from North Carolina State University.

Jacki Ball
Director of Government Affairs

Jacki Ball is the Director of Government Affairs at National PTA, where she leads PTA’s federal public policy agenda and lobbying efforts. Prior to joining National PTA, she was the Associate Director of Advocacy at the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP). While there, she helped to lead NASSP's federal advocacy efforts, which included coordinating their grasstops and grassroots efforts, lobbying congressional and administration staff, monitoring legislation and appropriations affecting middle level and high school leaders, and participating in coalition-building activities with other national education organizations.

Currently, Jacki is on the Board of Directors and serves as treasurer for the Committee for Education Funding (CEF), America’s largest education coalition with over 110 members representing the education community from preschool to postgraduate education.  

Jacki has spent her career either in the classroom or in government relations. She started her career at Fairfax High School (VA), where she taught history and government for over nine years. Jacki has also worked on Capitol Hill as a legislative aide to former Senator Jim Webb of Virginia, and as a staff assistant for the House Committee on Agriculture. She was Manager of Government Relations for Reading is Fundamental (RIF) where she worked on early childhood, literacy and appropriations.

She is an active member in professional associations serving the government relations profession. Jacki is a Board member of Women in Government Relations (WGR) and an active member of the Association of Government Relations Professionals (AGRP). 

Jacki has a bachelor’s degree from Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, NC, and a master’s degree from the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL.

Joshua Westfall
Government Affairs Manager

Joshua Westfall is the Government Affairs Manager at National PTA. His policy and advocacy experience began with his grassroots advocacy work at The Ohio State University and has grown throughout his time at the Canadian Parliament and the U.S. Department of Education. Prior to joining the National PTA, he was a legislative associate at Washington Partners, LLC where he worked with various K-12 education clients on issues concerning afterschool programs, computer science education, STEM subjects, students with disabilities, teacher organizations and funding for non-defense discretionary programs. In addition to his extensive bipartisan lobbying experience, Joshua has worked in various roles that include event planning, fundraising, communications and social marketing. Joshua graduated, Summa Cum Laude, from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science.

Lindsay Kubatzky
Government Affairs Coordinator

Lindsay Kubatzky is a native Texan where he attended public schools with great teachers and supportive parents. He is passionate about working on issues such as early childhood education that improves student outcomes, and strengthening family engagement in schools across the United States. Before coming to National PTA, Lindsay earned a Master in Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education in May 2015. Prior to entering graduate school, he was a staff member in the Texas Legislature for a state representative where he worked on a wide range of issues. He also has a Bachelor of Arts in Government from the University of Texas at Austin.

Chrystal Jones
Senior State Advocacy Strategist

Chrystal Jones serves as a senior advocacy specialist for National PTA. Hutchison has six years of experience in advocacy issue campaigns at the federal, state, and local levels. She has worked on a wide range of issues including the federal budget, voter's rights, and environmental protection. Jones has a Bachelor's degree in political science and international relations from Eckerd College in St Petersburg, Fla. She graduated with honors from Norwich University with a Master's degree in public administration.

Melisa Yeoman
Regional Advocacy Specialist

Melisa Yeoman serves as a Regional Advocacy Specialist with National PTA. She has been active in PTA for over 15 years starting at the local level and has held several positions on Ohio PTA's State Board including Director of Advocacy, Federal Legislative Chair, and Common Core State Lead. Her experience includes over 8 years in retail management and over 13 years as a political activist including work on local, state, and federal campaigns. Yeoman has a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Miami University (OH) and has a Master's degree in Organizational Leadership from Quinnipiac University.
