Facebook partnered with PTA to gather input from parents and raise awareness about existing safety tools, including at roundtables with members around the country. Facebook wanted to hear how families are using technology and their views on how to parent in a tech-filled world. Google has teamed up with National PTA’s PTA Connected program. Google’s online safety and digital citizenship workshops provide a forum for parents to learn and discuss how to help their children be safer and smarter online with the Be Internet Awesome program and Family Link app. Families will receive free bilingual resources and tips on how to communicate responsibly, understand real from fake in the face of phishing and scams, build strong passwords, be positive and kind online, talk about questionable content with their family, and explore why building healthy internet use is important. The workshop will empower parents to continue the conversation at home.
Goya-Move has partnered with National PTA in support of PTA’s Healthy Lifestyles Initiative, with the goal of helping families with their digital well-being and teaching kids digital moderation. The Goya-Move app is designed to get kids off their phones and outside moving… AGAIN! The app is installed on both the child and the parent device, allowing the parent to set "step goals" for their children and block selected apps until the step goals are met. Instagram is committed to making sure the app is a supportive community for teens to do and share what they love. Instagram wants parents of teens and guardians to feel informed and empowered to help guide them along the way.
