National PTA Family Mourns Passing of Michigan PTA President Sibyl Collins Wilson

ALEXANDRIA, Va. (April 18, 2019)Sibyl Collins Wilson, president of Michigan PTA, passed away Wednesday surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer. National PTA President Jim Accomando issued the following statement on behalf of the PTA family:

“It is with a sad heart that the PTA family says farewell to an exceptional woman and a fierce advocate for children and education.

“Those who were fortunate to know, work and volunteer alongside Sibyl will always remember her passion for and dedication to taking action to improve the education, health, safety, well-being and long-term success of every child. She touched so many lives personally and professionally and made a true difference for Michigan and our nation’s children.

“The PTA family is deeply saddened to lose such a passionate and committed advocate and a friend. Sibyl leaves a lasting legacy.  

“The PTA family extends our deepest sympathies to Sibyl’s mother and three sons. Our thoughts, prayers and hearts go out to her loved ones, friends and colleagues.”
