ALEXANDRIA, VA. (October 11, 2012) – The National Parent Teacher Association (PTA®) and Lifetouch National School Studios formed a partnership in which Lifetouch serves as the official photographer for the association. The organizations released a joint video for PTA members that detail the relationship. The video can be viewed at www.youtube.com/watch?v=uS4zpuKViww.

“It is with great admiration for the tradition of school photography, that I announce a new partnership with Lifetouch, the school photographers who have chronicled school children, schoolhouses and school days for nearly eighty years. In the year of our 115th anniversary, it is only fitting that we should acknowledge the important role school photography plays in the building and reinforcing of self-esteem in the children we serve throughout this nation,” said Betsy Landers, National PTA President.

Lifetouch believes this new alliance with National PTA will strengthen the partnerships it has developed nationally with superintendents, principals and other organizations dedicated to serving every child with a united voice for education. The longstanding tradition of school “Picture Day” takes on a new relevance as educators and school families find new ways to collaborate. Through this partnership, National PTA will be able to activate a new membership card, complete with added member benefits and online collaboration, amplifying the voice of moms and dads everywhere. The high-quality, professional membership cards, produced by Lifetouch, will help National PTA better serve grassroots members nationwide.

“As we begin this new partnership,” stated Nancy M. Dahl, president and COO of Lifetouch National School Studios, “we acknowledge that we are ‘better together’ as we mutually support the children and families we serve.”

Last year, the Smithsonian Institution in Washington D. C., accepted a Lifetouch school camera into their collection. At the acceptance ceremony, Smithsonian officials said that Lifetouch helps to tell the story of the American family.
