Suzi Kennon has been a PTA member for over 20 years and was elected to the National PTA Board of Directors in 2023. She serves on the Field Service and Governance Committees. Previously, Kennon served in various areas at the local, council, area and state levels, including as president of Texas PTA.

Kennon has received several awards including Texas PTA Honorary Life Membership Award; Texas PTA Extended Service Award; Volunteer of the Year at both her elementary and high school campuses; Community Ethics Award, the highest recognition in her school district for community service; the Wylie Way Award; and the Elizabeth Garrison Award. Additionally, she is an active volunteer in her community with the Wylie ISD Education Foundation and the Daughters of the American Revolution. Prior to becoming what her husband Brad calls “a professional volunteer,” Kennon was a paralegal for law firms in Seattle and Tampa. She recently earned a certification in Volunteer Management from the Center for Nonprofit Studies. Kennon and her husband have a son and a daughter.
