Maricela Arias-Cantu currently serves on the National PTA Board of Directors and has served in other National PTA leadership roles including chair of the Nominating and Leadership Recruitment Committee and chair of the Convention Committee. In addition, Arias-Cantu has previously served on a variety of local positions at her children’s schools including PTA president and Art Reflections chair.

Outside of PTA, Arias-Cantu is involved in volunteering at her children’s schools and on the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) Societal Impact Advisory Committee and has held volunteer leadership positions for ASAE, Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA), American Red Cross and local Girl Scout and Boy Scout troops.

In her professional life, Arias-Cantu is currently the director of education, content strategy and engagement at the National Council on Aging. She lives in Woodbridge, Va. with her husband of over 20 years and three children, Richard, Salma and Ava.
