Madison Laster is a young ambitious leader who always strives to make positive change for her community and was elected to the National PTA board in June 2018 as one of youth members. She is the chair of the Youth Engagement Committee and is eager to work towards representing and advocating on behalf of all children and families in the United States.
Laster is a recent graduate from Redondo Union High School in Redondo Beach, Calif. Throughout high school she served on the Redondo Beach Unified School District Board of Education and Redondo Union’s PTSA Board. She was also president of Redondo Union High School’s Teen Court and served on the California Association of Youth Courts state board as chair of the Youth Committee, as well as the California PTA Board of Managers on the Youth Engagement and Membership Committees.
After high school, Laster started California State University Sacramento as a junior. She served as Sutter Hall Council president, government events coordinator at Associated Students Inc. and acted as a mentor in the political science department’s Odyssey Peer Mentoring program. Laster is graduating early in December 2019 with her bachelor's in political science and plans to continue her education by going to graduate school.
Her passions include lobbying for education policy, reforming the juvenile justice system and being an unwavering advocate for youth.
