Kris Garst currently serves on the National PTA Board of Directors. Garst currently serves on the Europe PTA Board of Directors as vice president for legislation and the convention chair. She is a past president of Europe PTA, as well as the immediate past president and current vice president of the Grafenwoehr Elementary School PTA, which was the first National PTA School of Excellence in Europe (2014-16).
Along with PTA commitments, Garst has served as the chairperson of Grafenwoehr Elementary School’s School Advisory Committee; the GES representative on the USAG Bavaria Installation Advisory Committee; as a volunteer for Grafenwoehr Elementary School, Netzaberg Middle School, and the Bavaria Community and Spouses Club; and as a member of the USAG Bavaria Wellness Working Group.
Well-traveled, Garst was born in Brooklyn, New York and has had the pleasure of living in New York, Vermont, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia and Florida. She has also lived in Kaiserslautern, Germany and currently resides in Grafenwöhr, Germany.
Over the past 20 years, Garst has worked in management, marketing, event coordination, sales and community relations for companies like Borders Books & Music, Build-A-Bear Workshop and Barnes & Noble Booksellers.
Garst is married to her husband, Mike and they have three school-aged sons, Riley, Nathan and Tyler.
