Darlene Harris is currently a member on the National PTA Board of Directors. She also serves as National PTA’s Field Service committee chairperson. In addition to her service at the national level, Harris is the immediate Past President and senior grad night chair for Eastlake High School PTSA.
Harris has been involved with PTA for over 15 years. Previously, she held positions including National PTA Nominating and Leadership Development Committee member, California PTA Membership Commission member, district resource development specialist and founding member of the Eastlake High School PTSA.
Outside of PTA, Harris’ service includes volunteering as a PGA Farmers Insurance Open Hospitality Ambassador Lead and active church member. She and her husband are relocating to Pennsylvania after the New Year where she plans to complete her long-delayed college degree.
She has been honored with numerous awards, including recognition for PTA membership growth during the years 2014 - 2017, the Navy Meritorious Public Service Award for period 2007 – 2010, European PTA President’s Award for Community Service, European PTA Unit of the Year Award in 2009 and Leadership Excellence Award from Toastmasters International in 2006.
Harris is married to US Navy Retired. Master Chief Willie Harris. They have two children, Julianne a student at University of California San Diego and Davis a student at Menlo College, on a Golf scholarship.
