Darlene Sanchez-Harris has been involved with PTA for over 15 year and was elected vice president of membership for National PTA in June 2019. At the national level, Harris has served on the board of directors, the Nominating and Leadership Development Committee and chaired the Field Service committee.
At the state level, Harris has served as the membership chair for Pennsylvania PTA and immediate past president at Eastlake High School PTSA, where she is a founding member. She has also been a California State PTA Membership Commission member and European PTA membership director.
Harris also volunteers as a PGA Farmers Insurance Open Hospitality Ambassador Lead and Penn State Reads committee member. She is a current Penn State student pursuing a degree in business.
She has been honored with numerous awards, including recognition for PTA membership growth for several years over the last decade, the Navy Meritorious Public Service Award, European PTA President’s Award for Community Service, European PTA Unit of the Year Award in 2009 and Leadership Excellence Award from Toastmasters International in 2006.
Harris is married to a retired Navy Master Chief and has two children, Julianne, a student at University of California San Diego, and Davis, who is serving in the Marines.
