Charles Scott was elected as National PTA’s vice president of Membership for the 2023-2026 term in June 2023. He has been actively involved in PTA since 2004, and as vice president of Membership, Scott recognizes the importance of membership in staying on top of the changing educational landscape and empowering our leaders to shape the future. Scott has been in a host of different PTA-related roles including serving as a member on the National PTA Board of Directors and national-level committees, Tennessee PTA Membership Diversity and Inclusion chair and treasurer for United Shelby County Council PTA in Memphis to name a few. 

Aside from PTA, Scott works with Memphis Little League Baseball, is a board member of the Save One Foundation and is a Tennessee Archives mentor. He is also a past executive board member for the Memphis City School (MCS) Parent Assembly and past board member for MCS WATCH D.O.G.S., along with serving on numerous other community volunteer committees. At the start of 2023, Scott retired from FedEx after over 40 years. He is a Tennessee and a National PTA Lifetime Award recipient and has received several other awards for his volunteer service. He has a son, Chavez, and a daughter, Christi.
