National PTA and Promethean Announce “Great School Fundraisers” Contest |
Education Company helps Local PTAs Fund their Dream ActivClassroom and Stretch Budgets with 50/50 Offer10/26/2010Alexandria, VA (October 26, 2010) – National PTA and Promethean are launching a national initiative to help members “Fund their Dream ActivClassroom.”
As part of a new three-year sponsorship, Promethean, a global education company committed to supporting teaching and learning, will help local PTAs interested in adding interactive technologies into classrooms and investing in digital-age learning resources. “Parents are important catalysts to change in thousands of schools around the country. We are delighted to be working hand-in-hand with them to strengthen and reinvest in schools. When we give our educators the tools and support they need to be successful, we build a stronger future for our children and our country,” says Mark Elliott, President, Promethean North America. Promethean, a Proud National Sponsor of National PTA, is focused on student centered learning and integrated technology, training, content and assessment solutions that help teachers tailor instruction to meet individual student needs. The “Great School Fundraisers” Contest is designed to help local communities with creative and effective ways to raise funds to overcome recent budget shortfalls. Each contest entry should describe in detail a successful program and articulate how the activity was used to support school and learning-related activities. Entries will be collected online and judged by an anonymous panel of individuals from National PTA and Promethean based on the following categories: originality and creativity, community involvement, and focus on philanthropy. The very best, most successful fundraising ideas will be compiled and disseminated to help PTAs prepare for 2011-2012 back-to-school activities. Winners will be notified in May 2011 and will be awarded Promethean classroom technology. Official contest rules are posted at PrometheanWorld.com/PTA.
Beginning on November 1, 2010, PTAs across the country can submit best practices to the “Great School Fundraisers” contest and register their school to participate in the “Fund Your Dream ActivClassroom” by visiting PrometheanWorld.com/PTA..
