The Phoebe Apperson Hearst Awards
The Phoebe Apperson Hearst Awards for innovation in family engagement, named after National PTA co-founder Phoebe Apperson Hearst, recognizes and celebrates achievement in building effective family-school partnerships.
This year, the awards are presented to PTAs that have earned the National PTA School of Excellence designation and demonstrated outstanding success engaging families in student success and school improvements. The awards are the highest honor National PTA presents to effective family engagement. The 2016 award recipients are:
- Grafenwoehr Elementary PTA (Dept. of Defense Education Activity School, Germany) – 2016 Phoebe Apperson Hearst Outstanding Family-School Partnership Awar
- Centennial Campus Magnet Middle School PTSA (Raleigh, N.C.) – Phoebe Apperson Hearst Family-School Partnership Award of Merit
- New Century Technology High School PTSA (Huntsville, Ala.) – Phoebe Apperson Hearst Family-School Partnership Award of Merit
