Every Child in Focus Campaign
National PTA's Every Child in Focus is a campaign to strengthen family engagement in schools by celebrating the achievements and reporting the disparities within diverse populations, and sharing resources and advocacy tools to help understand the needs of every child.
Each month, National PTA will spotlight the educational issues surrounding a particular group, highlight their accomplishments and focus on ways to help foster Family-School Partnerships (view our 2015-16 calendar).
The campaign is a school-year-long series that provides educators, families and PTAs with the information they need to deepen family engagement in schools through the PTA National Standards for Family-School Partnerships.
September is National Hispanic Heritage Month
Follow our Every Child in Focus Calendar. Check this page each month for materials to help families and PTAs learn more about each group.
Every Child in Focus Leadership Series
Through its Every Child in Focus initiative, National PTA is hosting a series of virtual events for PTA leaders, educators, and family and community engagement professionals to educate about effective family engagement and community outreach strategies.
Each event will feature guest speakers with real-world insights to help parent leaders, educators, and community organizations understand perspectives of families, overcome barriers to family engagement, and deepen relationships in ways that will yield new parent leaders and advocates for children.
In the 2015-2016 school year, National PTA’s Every Child in Focus Leadership Series will focus on deepening understanding and support for:
- Hispanic Students
- Students Living in Poverty (Coming Soon)
Host an Every Child in Focus Leadership Event
All virtual events in this series will be aired live via webinar and recorded for on-demand viewing.
Attend the event live or view the recording. If the content resonates for your community or organization, host an Every Child in Focus Leadership Event for other parent, school or community leaders. Many of the webinars will include a discussion guide to help you fuel a robust conversation in your school or organization about key learnings and new ideas for more effective family engagement.
Take pictures from your event and use the hashtag #EveryChild to share your story with National PTA or send a photo with information about your event to firstname.lastname@example.org. We may highlight your efforts nationwide.
