Supporting California Wildfire Victims
October 24, 2007—While families continue being affected by the California wildfires, I ask that you keep us in your thoughts and prayers. I write to you not only as the PTA national president, but as a directly affected parent who yesterday had to voluntarily evacuate my home and community for a short while in Anaheim, California.
Rest assured that PTA is closely monitoring this tragedy as it continues to happen and that we will work with neighboring PTAs to provide support to the affected PTAs, families, and communities. As in past crises, our network of millions of parents and tens of thousands of PTAs will quickly come together for all the victims of this tragedy. Until then, please join PTA in hoping that the wildfires end quickly and families remain safe.
Jan Harp Domene
PTA National President
