PTA Annual National Convention & Exhibition
June 20-23, 2008
San Diego, California
All convention delegates attend these general meetings to raise their voices on the business of the organization and vote on national resolutions, bylaws changes, and the election of board members. Special guest speakers, national announcements, and award presentations also make these sessions memorable. Proposed bylaws amendments, resolutions, and the slate of candidates for 2008 are published on the PTA website.

Voting Credentials
Voting delegates to the national convention elect national board members, amend PTA National Bylaws, adopt national resolutions, and transact such business as authorized by the PTA National Bylaws. The number of voting delegates is based on state membership and delegates are selected in accordance with the bylaws of each state PTA. Your state PTA will distribute voting credentials cards. Please direct any questions about obtaining credentials cards to your state PTA office. When you arrive at the convention, bring your voting credentials card to the registration desk to declare your voting status. Do not mail your credentials card to the PTA national office.
Exhibits & PTA Basket Raffle
Looking for the perfect idea or solution to help out your PTA? You’re certain to find something among the 200 companies and organizations in the exhibit hall offering products designed to help PTA families and schools all year round. When you explore the exhibit floor, you’ll find safety and security solutions, fundraisers, PTA management and financial tools, and parent involvement and educational offerings to bring back to your local PTA. The Parents’ Expo will focus in the areas of health and wellness, college preparedness, and resources for PTAs, local parents, and kids. The exhibit hall always features new products, ideas, and give-a-ways, making your convention experience even more valuable. PTA’s basket raffle is also back, with even more great products and chances to win! Tickets for the basket raffle will be sold on-site in the exhibit hall.

2008 Parents’ Expo
Saturday, June 21, 8:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.
We’ll be helping people discover PTA by hosting a Parents’ Expo on Saturday, June 21 from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. where we will open the exhibit hall to the public. Highlights of the event include a book signing by Dr. Sanjay Gupta, CNN’s chief medical correspondent; a session by college entrance expert Seppy Basili; and a multitude of booths and displays covering health and wellness, college preparedness, safety, multicultural learning, and much more. Each convention T-shirt and pin package ordered in advance is just $15 (this package will sell for $18 on-site). Indicate the number of packages you want to pre-order on your registration form, including sizes of T-shirts. A ticket for each pre-ordered package will be included in the convention confirmation mailed to you. Redeem the ticket(s) in the registration area to collect your T-shirt(s) and pin(s). No lines, no money to exchange! Please note: shirt size availability is not guaranteed on-site.
Convention Tote Bag
To help you carry all the great information you’ll collect in workshops, at the PTA Information Booth, and in the exhibit hall, each registered attendee will receive a complimentary canvas tote bag. You’ll receive your tote bag, filled with special PTA resources and many sponsored items, when you arrive. Always a convention favorite, it’s a handy tote for work, school, and travel once you return home.
