2008 PTA National Legislative Conference

Get ready! PTA will host the 2008 National Legislative Conference on Wednesday, February 27–Thursday, February 28 in Washington DC. Additionally, a special training session for federal legislative chairs will be held prior to the Conference on Tuesday, February 26.

The 2008 National Legislative Conference will inspire and educate its attendees; whether they are seasoned veterans or new to federal and state advocacy, PTA has workshops and guest speakers planned to help build skills and learn more about the issues. Workshop topics include:

  • Introduction to Washington
  • Advanced Lobbying Techniques
  • Federal and State Budgets
  • Reauthorization of the No Child Left Behind Act
  • Motivating Your Members
  • Making the Connection Between Local and National Issues and Action
  • PTAs and Elections—What PTAs Can and Cannot Do
  • And many more!

Registration is open to any PTA member who wants to get involved, so start planning now! 

Online Registration begins Monday, December 17, 2007 and closes on Friday, January 18, 2008. Attendees are strongly encouraged to register as early as possible as all conference workshops will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.  Workshop space is limited.

Registration is open this year; no waiting list will be created. Registration cost is $225 per person and includes Wednesday breakfast and lunch, Thursday lunch and conference materials.
