National PTA Disappointed with Administration’s Rescission of Guidance to Protect Transgender Students 2-22-17
Today, the U.S. Departments of Education and Justice sent a letter to the nation’s schools rescinding guidance released in May 2016 on their obligations under Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 (Title IX) regarding a student’s gender identity. National PTA issued this statement on the Administration's rescission of the guidance.
PTA Take Your Family to School Week Brings Families into Classrooms Nationwide 2-15-17
National PTA has designated Feb. 13-17 PTA Take Your Family to School Week to encourage families to visit their child’s school and strengthen partnerships between parents, teachers and administrators. The timing of the week honors the day PTA was founded, Feb. 17, 1897.

National PTA is pleased to announce the recipients of its 2017 Outstanding Advocacy Awards, which honor parents and youth from across the country for their commitment to being a powerful voice for all children and a strong advocate for public education. The honorees will be recognized at the 2017 National PTA Legislative Conference, Wednesday, March 8, at the Crystal Gateway Marriott Hotel in Arlington, Va.
