H1N1 Concerns and
Let's Fight Flu Together!

It's hard not to be concerned about H1N1 and the seasonal flu this year. National PTA is committed to sharing with you up-to-date resources and information so that we are all informed of the latest news.

Let's Fight Flu Together!

Your PTA can be involved by sharing the Let's Fight Flu Together! seasonal flu vaccination program with your school administration. While we are still unsure how the H1N1 vaccine will be administered, we know that the seasonal flu vaccination is the single best way to prevent getting the flu each year. Your PTA can help support your school's efforts in keeping all children healthy this school year by hosting a flu vaccination clinic in your school or community place. Flu vaccination clinics can take place anytime between late September and January. We anticipate that this model of a school vaccination program may be used to administer the H1N1 vaccine later this fall.

For more information on how to register for your own flu vaccination clinic, go to PTA.org/FluShotClinics. You'll find frequently asked questions, myths and facts about the flu, promotional materials, and information to share with your school administration. Contact Annie Krysl, Outreach Manager, at akrysl@pta.org for more information on hosting a Let's Fight Flu Together! clinic.
