Are there more males in your PTA?
National, state and local PTAs are making history and changing with the changing with the times... Another sign of the times is increasing male involvement in schools nationwide. Reporters keep ringing our phones at the National PTA’s headquarters (see links to articles below) because it’s a great story and it’s no accident...
Historically, there were only a couple thousands involved fathers, grandfathers, uncles, brothers and other males in the family. But for the last several years, PTA has made a conscience effort to invite males to get involved. Now, hundreds of thousands of males are involved … and counting!
National PTA helps local PTAs across the country with resources, tips, programs and training like no other parent group out there. (Don’t be misled by any other group that says it reaches your PTAs or have any other involvement.)
One of our most recent efforts is National PTA’s M.O.R.E. alliance (or Men Organized to Raise Engagement). We’ve partnered with other male groups in all communities to strengthen the message and engage more and more men every day.
An even bigger story is two-fold, several months ago we selected our first-ever male CEO… and in a few months, we’ll install our first-ever male president! In June, two men will lead the National PTA. Now that’s American history and PTA is again at the forefront of change.
Will more males get involved? Tell us what you think?

The local PTA unit I am member began in 1986 when the school began. Men have been president of this unit, including me, for 13 years!
