When parents open a savings account for their children, they can begin to teach the value of saving money. Along with a quarterly account statement, kids receive the colorful kidz klub newsletter, which is full of money-saving tips, games, puzzles, and brainteasers to test their money know-how.
- National Education Program—Computers are becoming an integral part of a child’s education, which is why Alliant’s National Education Program awards a total of $5,000 in computer certificates to elementary, junior high, and high school students nationwide.
- Members Scholarship Program—To help families beat the rising costs of education, Alliant’s Members Scholarship Program awards five $2,000 scholarships ($10,000 total) each year to college-bound students who are enrolled in an accredited college, technical/vocational institution, or undergraduate university.
- Coverdell Education Savings Account— A Coverdell Education Savings Account (ESA) is a great way to save for education expenses such as books, supplies, after-school programs, tuition, tutoring, and even home computers. This account earns high-yield dividends, with added benefits like tax-free dividends and penalty-free withdrawals if the money is used for qualified expenses.
- Student Loan Program—low cost loans are available for college and graduate students, as well as kindergarten through high school students to attend private and parochial schools.
- Educational Seminars—PTAs can request speakers on finance issues to present at a meeting in select geographic areas. Alliant Set for Success Seminars can be customized for parents and students to learn and grow together. Contact Steve Jacoby at (800) 328-1935 Ext. 2197 for area availability and topic information.

LT Apparel Group, parent company of French Toast Official School Wear and Healthtex, is a Proud National Sponsor of the PTA. We support and commend the efforts of PTA members across the country in aiding & bettering today’s education system. At LT Apparel we are committed to providing children with appropriate quality clothing so their personality and grades shine making them an individual, not their dress.
French Toast Official School Wear is America’s best-selling school uniform line known for product durability, quality, reliability and value. Nearly 15 million students attend US schools that require school uniforms or have a “standardized dress code policy” in place. Most initial interest for beginning school uniform programs begins with the parents of a school and the associated PTA of that school. Uniforms provide a sense of unity, school spirit, security and self confidence, while decreasing bullying, teasing and competition.
Healthtex is a leading designer and manufacturer of age-appropriate children’s clothing. Healthtex’s Grow Slow™ campaign takes back childhood. Grow Slow™, is designed not only to give parents of elementary school-age children stylish clothing choices, but to promote the importance of embracing childhood. Grow Slow™ is a simple concept – enjoying this innocent stage and returning to the values of youth and family. The way children dress can affect performance, the better the fit and comfort of a garment the more confident they will feel. National PTA, a partner in the Healthtex campaign, hopes the “grow slow” message will communicate the role clothing plays in children’s attitudes and classroom performance.
LT Apparel Group was our 2007 presenting sponsor of the PTA Walk for Healthy Kids.
