Carla Niño has been a PTA member for more than 25 years; she currently serves as a consultant for the health commission as well as the chair for the resource development committee. She was elected in June 2008 as a member representative to the National PTA board of directors and is the chair of the convention-general arrangements committee.

She served as California State PTA president from 2003-2005. She also served the California State PTA as 1st vice president, general convention chairman, treasurer, and vice president for health. She served three years as an elected member of the nominating and leadership development committee for National PTA.

Carla’s wide-ranging résumé includes fluency in Spanish and her position for the last 36 years as an assistant hospital administrator for the County of Los Angeles Department of Health Services. Carla directs service integration and access for ValleyCare health network; her primary responsibilities include directing operations for the hospital-based ambulatory primary and specialty clinics, customer service, and community relations.

Carla is also the president for the Olive View Federal Credit Union, bringing expertise in financial management, non-profit boardsmanship, strategic planning, and team building to that board.

Carla has two children and one grandson.
