Rosemary Estrada-Kirby has been a PTA member for three years. Estrada-Kirby was appointed to serve as an at-large member to the Board of Directors in hopes of bringing a teachers’ perspective to PTA in June 2005. She was then elected in June 2007 to serve as a member representative. She currently serves on the Diversity Committee and previously served on the Membership Committee.
Estrada-Kirby is a teacher and works closely with a large Hispanic and Native-American population of high school students.
Estrada-Kirby volunteers with many groups including, INCA (Indigenous Nations for Community Action), National Education Association AP. She has received the New Mexico Community Luminaries Award, the White House Committee Presidential Scholars/Distinguished Teacher Award, the Golden Apple Foundation Teaching Award, the World Class Teachers Network Fellows and the Crystal Apple Teaching Award.
Estrada-Kirby has two daughters.
