Jo Ann Fujioka
PTA national board member, 2007-2009

Jo Ann Fujioka was appointed to serve a two-year term as an at-large board member. Fujioka serves on the Committee on Diversity.  She has been a member of the PTA for 19 years.

Fujioka brings a wealth of educational experience to the PTA.  She recently completed a two-year term as the International President of Phi Delta Kappa International, a professional association for educators that promotes equal opportunity for a quality education for all students. She currently serves on their International Board. She also spent 18 years in educational administration at the district, area, and pre-kindergarten-12th grade levels developing programs and writing multi-disciplinary and career education curricula.

In addition to her extensive work with PTA and Phi Delta Kappa, Fujioka is affiliated with a number of professional organizations including, the Alliance of Professional Consultants, the American Association of School Executives, the past president of the Colorado School Health Association, the Japanese American Museum-National School Project for Curriculum Development, and is on the Advisory Board of the Public Broadcasting System.

Fujioka has received a number of honors and awards, including the University of Denver Chapter of Phi Delta Kappa International Leadership Award, Phi Delta Kappa International George H. Reavis Associate, and Who’s Who in American Education 2005-2007.

Fujioka is married with one child and one grandchild.
