Scott Allen was born in Montana and has lived in Pennsylvania, California, Virginia and Washington state. Allen earned a BBA from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas and while there worked as an assistant/attendant for a quadriplegic student. He earned his MBA from the University of Washington in Seattle, Wash., receiving a Junior Achievement Volunteer scholarship as well as working in the credit and banking industries.
After a short stint as a financial systems consultant, he has worked for over 20 years as a Business Systems Analyst focusing on HR systems. He has worked at notable companies such as Univar, Starbucks and Expedia and is currently employed at Esterline Technologies Corporation (a multi-national avionics parts and components manufacturer), headquartered in Bellevue, Wash.
Allen has been an active community volunteer for over 23 years and a PTA member for 20 years. He currently serves on the National PTA Board of Directors (where he serves on the Resolutions Committee) and as the president of the State Presidents Club. Allen was elected in June 2009 as the first male president of the Washington State PTA (WSPTA), where he previously served as vice president and legislative director. He has also served as WSPTA's male involvement chair and resolutions chair, in addition to local PTA involvement as council treasurer, local unit president, and many legislative chair positions.
Along with PTA commitments, Allen is also active in the swimming community, volunteering as a USA Swimming Certified Official. He serves as the officials chair for the Issaquah Swim Team and has held leadership positions over many years supporting summer league and high school swimming.
Allen is married to his wife, Shari. They currently reside in Bellevue, Wash. and have two older daughters, Eristina and Sarah, as well as a son Benton who takes good care of their dog, Dakota (a schnoodle).
