Scott Allen was born in Montana and has lived in the states of Pennsylvania, California, Virginia and Washington. While he calls Washington "home", Allen earned a BBA from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, TX and while there worked as an assistant/attendant for a quadriplegic student. He earned his MBA from the University of Washington in Seattle, WA, receiving a Junior Achievement Volunteer scholarship as well as working in the credit and banking arenas.
After a short stint as a financial systems consultant, he is employed as a Business Systems Analyst at the world headquarters of Univar (North America's largest chemical distribution company) in Redmond, WA where he worked over 20 years.
Allen has been an active community volunteer for over 20 years and a PTA® member for over 15 years. He currently serves on the National PTA® Board of Directors and at his local PTA as the Legislative Chair. Allen was elected in June 2009 as the first male President of the Washington State PTA (WSPTA), where he previously served as Vice President and Legislative Director. He has also served as WSPTA's Male Involvement Chair and Resolutions Chair in addition to local involvement as Council Treasurer and Local Unit President.
Along with PTA commitments, Allen is also active in the swimming community, volunteering as a USA Swimming Certified Official. He serves as the Officials Chair for his son's swim team as well as on the board of the Midlakes Swim League in addition to helping officiate high school swim meets.
Allen is married to his wife, Shari, who works at Univar as well as an HRIS Specialist. They currently reside in Bellevue, WA and have a son Ben, a junior at Newport High School, and two daughters - Sarah, a junior at University of Nevada - Las Vegas and Eristina, a senior at Montana State University.
