Kathy Nevans is a dedicated PTA member, bringing her valuable experience to a variety of leadership positions on the national, state, and local levels.
Nevans' extensive past service within the PTA includes serving as Missouri state PTA president, as well as state chairman for National PTA Convention. She has been a member of the National Council of States and the Convention General Arrangements Committee. Nevans has also served as Independence Council (School District) President, as well as Sycamore Hills Elementary PTA president and president of Independence Middle School Campus PTSA. Currently, Nevans serves on the National PTA Resolution Committee and the Missouri Governor's Council on Physical Fitness. She serves as an advisor for the Missouri PTA and the Independence Council of PTAs and frequently presents at state and local workshop events.
Nevans has been married for 29 years to husband Jerry; the couple has two grown children. She holds a bachelor's degree in history education from the University of Northern Iowa. An active member of her community, Nevans is a member of the Blue Ridge Trinity Lutheran Church and Independence Young Matrons.
