Schools and PTAs Across the Country Honored Nationally for Leadership and Excellence in Building Family-School Partnerships 8-26-15
National PTA is pleased to announce that 124 schools and PTAs, representing 33 states and one Department of Defense school in Turkey, have been recognized as 2015-2017 National PTA Schools of Excellence. The National PTA School of Excellence designation honors accomplishments in building strong, effective family-school partnerships, which are proven to make a difference for students and schools.
National PTA Announces Grand Prize Winner of Family Reading Challenge 8-25-15
National PTA has named Julie Spence, president of Garfield Elementary School PTA in Livonia, Mich., the grand-prize winner of its PTA Family Reading Challenge, a campaign that encouraged families to keep learning alive during summer break and make joyful memories by reading great books together. In addition to recognizing the winner of the PTA Family Reading Challenge, National PTA and Amazon are awarding a classroom of Kindle e-readers to 50 local PTAs from across the country for PTA Family Reading Experience events.
National PTA Reacts to Findings from 2015 PDK/Gallup Opinion Poll on the Nation's Public Schools 8-24-15
Today, PDK and Gallup released the results from the 2015 Poll of the Public’s Attitudes Toward the Public Schools. The findings demonstrate a continued need for a robust and collaborative education effort around the Common Core State Standards and student assessment, as well as greater investments in education. The results align with top priorities of National PTA to support and empower families and ensure all children are provided a high-quality education that enables them to reach their full potential.
