Melissa Johnson

Melissa JohnsonMelissa Johnson has been a PTA member for more than 10 years. She was elected in June 2009 to serve a two-year term as member representative to the National PTA Board of Directors. Johnson currently serves on the National PTA Special Needs Committee.

Johnson served as president of the Connecticut PTA (2007-2009). In addition to her roles on the Connecticut PTA board and committees, Johnson has held numerous council and local PTA leadership roles. She is most proud of establishing a SEPTA (Special Education PTA) in her hometown of Terryville, where she served as the first president of their PTA.

Johnson is the recipient of both the Connecticut PTA and National PTA Honorary Life Achievement Awards.

Johnson and her husband have three children.
