![]() Recently, Target and Facebook created the “Bullseye Gives” campaign that will allow Facebook users and guests to vote for their top non-profit to receive the most funds. PTA will be listed along with nine other national non-profits to earn a share of $3 million. The level of funding awarded to each charity is based on the number of votes garnered during the two-week campaign. Individuals can vote once each day. So it’s important you vote, and vote often!
As the demands of the global economy continue to rise, our nation’s education system is losing its competitive edge and is slipping behind. These gaps are especially prevalent in urban communities. The 50 largest cities in the nation account for nearly one quarter of the over one million high school students who fail to graduate with a diploma each year. PTA will use these funds to support its new Urban Family Engagement Initiative. In order to address this crisis, the National PTA has identified 10 cities to develop new models of parent engagement, inclusive of all parents, to ensure opportunity and equity for the students in each city. Thank you for your continued support of PTA!
