Vito J. Borrello

Vito J. BorrelloVito J. Borrello was appointed as an at-large national board member for PTA in June 2008 and also serves on its finance committee.  Professionally, Borrello serves as president of EPIC – Every Person Influences Children.  EPIC provides a variety of prevention programs which have been implemented in 16 states to help parents, teachers, and community members raise children to become responsible and capable adults.  During Borrello’s 13 year tenure at EPIC, it has experienced significant growth, particularly in the states of New Jersey (through a licensing relationship with Prevent Child Abuse-New Jersey) and New York (where EPIC now has five regional offices and eight parent centers, including a recently-constructed Wilson National Center for Parenting and Character Education in Buffalo).  His focus has been developing strong partnerships with the public and private sectors, in order to elevate the importance of parenting and character development.

Nationally, Borrello currently serves as an advisory board member for the National Coalition of PIRCs (Parental Information Resource Centers), and is an active member of United Voices in Education (UVE).  Regionally, he is chairman for the Care Management Coalition of Western New York, a board member for Buffalo’s Read to Succeed literacy initiative, and an advisory board member for Thinkbright Education Channel.  Borrello also serves as an active member for the NY Child Action Network (NYCAN), including participation as a member of its 0-5 committee.  In 2007, he was selected for an 18-month healthcare fellowship by the Community Health Foundation for Central and Western New York.  He is a 1998 graduate of Leadership Buffalo and has a bachelor’s degree in music education from Wittenberg University.  Borrello resides in East Amherst, NY with his wife, Maria, and daughters, Marisa and Samantha.
